Coming Down Again

You have to love balloons. They tell you when they have had enough. They just start to come down.

When it first got here it was knocking against the ceiling. But now it is easing on down into the bliss.

Mannish Boy

I am listening, for about the third time, to Mannish Boy, live by the Stones. Getting ready to go to a wine tasting and then dinner. I am probably one of the oldest bloggers out there, but Daddy is still very proud. I have a starched white shirt on and my "She Was Just 17" Beatles tie. Good to go. Should be a great evening. And then tomorrow there is the celebration of Geno.

Love you all and keep on blogging.

Stuck On Stoker

Once bit, twice shy.

Bite Me

I have finally finished all 27 chapters of Braum Stoker's - Dracula. I read it online. If you haven't already bookmarked Online Literature then you must be into d&s.

Is Dracula good? Still. Does it deserve to be a classic? Oh yes. Is it the best book I have ever read? No.

Of course the reading of Dracula is somewhat tainted by everyone's a prior exposure to the many Dracula adaptations seen on tv or in the theater. The original Dracula, filmed in the '50's very closely follows the book. So even before I began my journey, I knew much about the terrain and the final destination. Still Stoker's slipping into darkness with the Count is trans goth at its best.

Stoker's approach to the telling of the tale is unique. He uses the journals of five knight errants to tell the story of the creature from the land of mist and howling wolves - Transylvania. Today the ramblings of Jonathan Harker and his confederates would have been captured on blogs, but in the1800's all they had was diaries, journals, and letters. Actually one of the participants was much more high tech than that and uses some sort of dictaphone device. The reflection of the five are of some interest, as they described the method by which they keep their journals, the need to keep records because we are all so memento, and the sometimes struggle that we are all familiar with to keep on blogging after a day of battling vampires.

A sin of omission for Stoker is that there is no journal for the Count. The reflections of Dracula would have taken Braum's work to the next level. Ironically, this is exactly where Ann Rice commences in her inaugural - Interview with a Vampire.

Many books have a certain word or phrase that is unique to them, like waghalsig in the Constant Gardener by John Le Carre. These markers act as a trigger. In the minds of the initiate, just the exposure to this one word will bring back the entire text. For me, zoophagous is the trigger for Dracula.

I certainly would like to read some of the reviews of Stoker's classic when it first came out. For its time, Dracula must have been the Rosemary's Baby, Exorcist, Blair Witch, all in one. It must have been quite a shocker.

For shame, I had never read Dracula, but now I have and I am glad. And having read Stoker's classic, in some small way I have been changed and will never be the same again.

As it was in the beginning, is now, and every shall be. World without end. Amen.

Google Cops Blogger

I am sure that most of you are aware that Google (google? - googol - A googol is an expression used to denote a number. The number being a 1 followed by 100 zeros - 10100) has acquired Blogger (weB Logging). This is a take over of the first order, and it will be very interesting to observe how this union unfolds. Google is the de facto search engine for most. Blogger has an estimated 100,000 active bloggers, daily pouring there hearts out on the internet with all kinds of juicy information. Google + Blogger = Lots of almost instantaneously cross indexed data. It is a data miner's nirvana.

(to be continued after The Big Party.)

In its infancy, my blog was titled Worm Whole Sigma. My thought was to create a new type of blog. My thought was to create a self referencing blog. Laconically, we are all a repertoire of mind sets and phrases that reoccur in a myriad of permutations. Using cross links to prior blogs, I wanted to try and capture and play with this unity. To be interesting though, this methodology requires a critical mass, a sufficient number of entries. Since I was just starting to blog I dropped the idea and went on to other things.

Fresh Fish has now though achieved cm. Fresh Fish is actually self sustaining. I could actually just go back in the archives everyday and cut and paste some prior blog. Few would know because we are all so memento.

To some degree I do play this little game of cut and paste and I use Google to do it. I use Google to cross index my blog entries because with over a year's worth of blogging I have lost track of where many topics are discussed. And with time this will only get worse.

One of the features I love about Google is found under the advanced search option. I go to the advanced search page and then I use the Domain delimiter and enter robertdsnaps.blogspot.com to access my blog only. Then I enter the topic or phrase I am interested in and Google fetches those entries of interest from my archives. This has saved me lots of time in hunting down an internal link I am looking for.

And wow!! This illustrates how out of the loop, how cloistered I am. I just discovered that you can use Google to search for images. I put in sunset as the search parameter and got thousands of snaps. Google drew a blank though when I searched on sock drawer.

Schwag?

I have been caught with my pants completely down. I had no idea. Not even the slightest clue, as to what schwag is? But apparently others know.

The World Spins In Strange Ways

but not exactly as one might suspect.

It was a beautiful day today. I would have loved to have been caressed by the bliss of the day but - "Some people like to go out dancing. Other people like me, we got to" - I had to work.

Still I was enchanted. Being a smoker I have to make it out, out into the sparkle, out into the shine. It was a bit windy but I still felt snug and alive. And then on my last break, just before the setting of sun, I was there for the birds as they cooed and settled down for the night.

My favorites are the little finches. One of the only things that I know to be true is that the smallest birds have the sweetest song. You should have been there, you could have felt it. In pairs and sometimes 3's or more, they chirped away. I really wish I knew what they were fussing about, but I pretended that they were querying where everyone was going to be hanging out for the night.

With Impunity

Part of me wanted to run with the wolves, but my heart beat faster for home.

I did go out. I did go out into the nip and nasty. Yesterday it rained most of the day and all of the night, and then today for a brief respite the sun ruled, but now t'is wind with wet and leaves scurrying home.

I passed it by on the way home. The club. A place to hang out and be a bit different. Can we play let's pretend? I saw all the cars outside. Entities looking for something, or perhaps the inverse, oblivion.

But my heart was somewhere else. I had tasted oblivion too many times. It was less and not more that I sought.

Actually I am not doing bad. As we speak I have a little sliced new potato gurgling away in the frying pan, already the tots are a golden brown. Next the steak. And with the pan hot, the rare red flesh is sure to dance and sing. All this and heaven too. And the I get some coffee.

This would be enough for most, but then in many ways I am different. With the coffee and the wind and the sounds of my melodious chimes, I get that which is befitting a king. Unto my lips I do press the B&B.

Aroint and anon. The king is almost ready.

A Trinity. A Trinity. We Want a Trinity

Ames d’abandon is a french term. The first term is familiar to most, ames is the plural of friend. There is no direct translation of d’ abandon. It is a very personal term, in a sense it is that which makes one unique. It is the way in which one seeks forgiveness.

There is in fact a trinity associated with d’ abandon, there being three different paths that one may follow. There are those that define d’ abandon to mean of abandon. There are those that define d’ abandon to mean of the abandoned. There are those that espouse a simultaneity of both. In some sense this is the true delineation of neophyte, adept, and master.

I used the b's and i's, bold/italics, to bring attention, to make you aware, to raise a bit higher in consciousness, terms that are unique, rara avis, a black swan. I do this because we are all so memento.

MonkeyShite - Blog of The Day

I have only hit on MonkeyShite a.k.a. Rev. Spanky's House of Wank, a few times but for content this guy really puts the boot in - MonkeyShite kicks. The guy is a little erratic with his blogging, there are archives for 9/02 and then the next postings skip all the way to 2/03, perhaps initially disillusioned but he is getting back in the game. I can't wait for this dude to start hitting on all 6. The skinny here is that, pen to paper put, this guy's writing style has potential.

So why don't you get spanked, and if you want more of the good stuff give this guy a plug.

Bend Over

I am such a slacker. I have had my preliminary tax numbers done for about 2 weeks. All I have had to do is fill out/in the tax forms and mail them in/out. And yes I am getting money back.

Actually I am getting a lot of money back. I am using a new tax preparation software package called Butt Fucked. This is my first year using Fucked and I love it. According to my calculations, Uncle Sam owes me $24 trillion dollars, and I just took the standard deduction. Not only do you get a lot of money back when you use Fucked, but BF guarantees that you will only have to do your taxes once. Butt Fucked guarantees that after submitting just one return using their state of the art software, you will never ever have to submit another tax return again.

More money and less hassle. I love it.

Wow!!

Watched a great video this evening - Dressed To Kill - a Brian de Palma thriller, with Michael Caine, Angie Dickinson, and Nancy Allen. Caine, Dickinson, and Allen are all good but the real star of this flix is de Palma. de Palma uses juxtapose , contrast, delay, and every other conjure to take this trick way over the top. It is true that Dressed does contain some fish hook caught in your eye gore, but you just have to deal with it. Dressed To Kill is more than a movie. Dressed To Kill is an experience.

It Was All In Color

It was all in color and everything. First i had sex with the coolest chick. She was blond and had the biggest tits and let loose about every 2 mins. She was an old faithful. And wow she even made noise. I liked that part.

And then it started to rain. Purple rain. I thought of prince but what the fuck i'm a king.

And then I went to feed the ducks and every time they ate some of my bread they started to go crazy and like cough up blood. It was real mucky. Blue water with red blood. And the sounds they made. And the wings flapping but nothing happening. I was freaked.

And then next my mom comes in and asks me what I want for lunch? It is like 3 am but via mom time it is time for lunch. I tell her I would like a pizza with lots of gooey cheese. She comes back in about 5 mins. with some kind of fish dish. And yeah the fish still had the head on it. And what really got me was that about every minute one of the dead fish's eyes would wink at me.

And then the fish started to tell me the story of how he got a fish hook stuck in his eye. He said that the fish hook went into his eye real easy but getting it out was a bitch. It was then I noticed the gash. It hadn't healed right and it look nether.

With a little time I could handle all of this. I go here all the time. But then the dream turned meta, metaphysical.

"If 2+2=4, what are all the other digits for?"

This took me out. At the level of logic I had no answer. Squares turned into circles. And I spun around and around and got dizzy with lots of images swirling in my head. I got dizzy swirling round.

And then it stopped. And then it was black. And then I was really freaked because I kept asking myself if this was all there was?

Hey I am not the only one. I am not the only one that gives thanks to the holy. Check out Girls Are Pretty .

Unto Thine Lips Dew Press

And he came upon the hags as they were gathered holding hands in a circle, with their heads tilted up, silently gazing into the above.

"How fare thee crones?"

"We search the sky for God."

"Then you search in vein."

Obiter dictum - The links above are an approach towards an illustration of the meaning of the term 3rd circle. Actually the links illustrate 2nd circle. In the above we have symbols referencing other symbols. However in actually theory and practice there are no highlighted symbols and point and click, the links are covert.

"For God is not to be found in the skies of middle earth or in the heavens. That which is pristine and flesh, taking all within, and from with to be cleansed and forgiven. Denied to none. Always given freely. God does not dwell close to Zeus. God reigns upon an infinite throne in Atlantis. To be near him drink more water. God is not in the sky but in the sea."

But the night hags were oblivious to these elementary diatribes and continued to bay at the moon, waiting for Godot.

Wondo - do now. The magick is in the ing. The magick is in the doing..

Drink more water. Unto thine lips.

Drink more water and receive. Drink more water and again be blessed. Drink more water and come closer to God.

Unto thine lips due press that which is given freely to all.

Drink more water.

And There Was

The smell of incense and garlic. I think he was playing. I think he was playing with the olfactory nerve. The smell of incense and garlic. Like he was beckoning the bitch and banishing the vamp.

And then the physical encountered the metaphysical.

"Is there a difference?"

There is one and only one, out of all the infinities, there is only one answer. I have physic powers. I knew the answer even before the question was asked.

"Perhaps?"

Enchanted Still

A full pack
but one match.
Flit or flitter.
What a bitch.

And a bitch she was,
as she rode high,
a very, "My daddy is the best daddy!",
proud.

If not today,
tomorrow.

And when I was fresh,
when I was young,
I never thought
I would need her so much.

In my sky,
and the sky of others,
she is faithful.
In my sky,
and the sky of others,
she shines,
brightly and
proud.

I more than ever
need the shine
need the bright
need the proud
need the light.

And I was bad
and I was very bad.
I ran as fast as I could
and then I jumped high
way past tomorrow
and then I
claw to hand
did
catch the moon
and
I did ride her.

And with spur
she to buck,
and I did
ride again.

I did ride again,
the moon
and her
splendor.

I used to write poems to the full moon. And then I lost it. All I really wanted was to have 12 good full moon poems. I have 10. I owed the sparkle and the shine 2. This is my offering. 2-1=1. I owe her one more, and being ever faithful, still I will pine.

You Covet What You See

It's been a while, but if you read or saw, The Silence of the Lambs, you will remember that one of the definitive clues was the finding of a special kind of moth, lodged in the throat of one of the decomposing bodies. The moth was special, it had a skull and cross-bones on its back. At the time, I was impressed with the author's entomological acumen.

The Silence of The Lambs came out in 1991. I never liked Jodie Foster as Clarice Starling. But in spite of Foster it was an excellent flix.

The Acherontia Atropos of the Sphinges

I am still reading Dracula and it is still very good. Today, I was perusing Chapter 21 of Braum Stoker's classic, when I came across this -

"By making them happen. Just as he used to send in the flies when the sun was shining. Great big fat ones with steel and sapphire on their wings. And big moths, in the night, with skull and cross-bones on their backs."

Van Helsing nodded to him as he whispered to me unconsciously, "The Acherontia Atropos of the Sphinges, what you call the `Death's-head Moth'?"

You don't think that Thomas Harris, author of The Lambs, borrowed this little tidbit from Stoker?

Into Far Darkness Gone

It was really quite enchanting watching this shinny valentine's day ballon swival up into the darkness of the night sky. Its reflection getting smaller and smaller. Yes, no, yes, gone.

Magick With A Balloon

Yes everything was like magick. I was late getting to my place but so was Plum. We got to the movies just in time, only had to wait for about 5 minutes before the flix started. The place I needed to go to buy an office chair was right across the street from the movie complex and was open when the movie let out. Got lost but then just found the restaurant I was looking for. Made it home without getting arrested. Actually Plum drove us home. Candles and a little fire and presents. And yes, blink red, blink green, I had my Christmas lights going on the balcony again. And then...

Plum and I both had some clothes on but I got us both a robe. We ventured out into the night with the Valentine's Day Balloon on a long ribbon. Plum was apprehensive. There was a car or two in the parking lot and she wasn't exactly sure what we were doing on the pavement with robes on, hugging, with a balloon between us. But god loves us and the cars went away. I had Plum hold the ribbon up high. As she lifted her hand higher the balloon also bobbed up higher. (Wait a minute. I thought no bobbing was allow.) With the red metallic Valentine's Day Balloon bitting at the bit, I had Plum make a wish. Then I took some scissors from my pocket and cut the red ribbon.

Into far darkness the balloon went, swiveling in a left to right fashion, all the while getting smaller as it got higher, and higher, and higher. Yes, no, yes, gone.

chicken in the car

car can't go. that's how you spell Chicago.

Went to see the movie Chicago last night and I was enchanted.

"Can I tell you how stupid I was?"

"Oh let's."

I didn't know that Chicago is a, people bursting into song and dance for no reason, a musical. I am sure they mentioned it in some of the reviews I read, but it just didn't sink in. Clue - I am not that fond of musicals.

But yes Chicago is different. It is a tribute to the human spirit. The la la and the one, two, three are best of class. The singing and dancing are good. Chicago is trans goth. Chicago is naughty. Chicago is high vamp. Chicago is third circle. Chicago is nine stars. I am not, but Chicago is worthy.

Destruction Is A Form of Creation

War is not a rational endeavor. War stirs the blood and rattles the chains. Things forgotten flick and flitter. Shadows become more real. The wolves unleashed go forth with impunity. And sharks circle round our hopes and dreams

War is a Pandora's Box of possibilities. Once set in motion War takes on a will and way of its own. Its desires become our desires and with delight we beckon The Beast.

And The Beast does come. Drunk on the blood of The Forsaken. And The Beast never sleeps. Always dreaming of more.

I still don't think we will go to war with Iraq. Saddam is just too slick. Saddam is having the time of his life playing Bush. And it is just going to get better.

Saddam is slowly going to release more and more information, but just enough to tease. He is going to waiting until the US build up is complete. He can wait because he knows we will give him a final ultimatum.

Just before the final ultimatum comes he will stand very proud before his people. He will tell them," I am Addam. I am Addam and I am invincible. As prophesied by our ancestors. As written in our sacred text. All of the powers of The Infidel are before us. But I Addam, the invincible, with just a wave of my hand, will make them all fall into the abyss. I Sadam, with a wave of my hand, will banish The Infidels into The Pit."

And then he will pull out a few leaking tanks of nerve gas or something and say, "Is this the stuff you guys have been running around in circles for."

And thus by finally complying with UN resolutions, the United States will be forced to stand down. Saddam might even get some international acclaim for averting war.

The sad part here is that I know that the war is wrong, but there is a part of me that is starting to stir that actually wants to see jet fighters and rockets and things blow up. I hear the drums beating. I am succumbing to the call of the blood.

Drawing Outside of The Lines

I offer evidence that I can't draw worth a flip

Subatomic Structure With (n+1) Possibilities

© 2003 big box industries

Perhaps

I am rather fond of the word perhaps. It portends of such pregnant possibilities. I find myself use perhaps with some frequency. Perhaps i use it with such punctuality because perhaps is just a phun little word to play with.

One of the nice things about perhaps is that anyone can acquire the propensity, anyone can start perhapsing in about 7 seconds. Before you know it, you are perhapsing this and perhapsing that, and actually having a little phun. The phun, at least for me, is that i know that using perhaps is a little game, but most others don't realize the little inside joke.

Another nice thing about perhaps is that it is prehensile, it is very handy. Perhaps performs under a plethora of conditions. It is like a swiss army knife. When in doubt - perhaps?

I can't recall in my pondering how I acquire the habit of using perhaps. There are certain phrases and words where I can trace the acquaintance to a unique source, like "why not?" - movie Don Juan de Marco - and "quaint and curious" - The Raven - Poe. But the pathology of perhaps alludes me. Perhaps it's use is just an acquired taste.

So give perhaps a whirl. Next time someone asks you something just answer perhaps and smile.

The Iraqi Situation

Fact - It is true that Iraq has some aging biochemical weapons. The reason this is known is because these weapons were given to Iraq by the United States, during the Iraqi - Iranian War.

Fact - Although Iraq has a stockpile of aging biochemical weapons, it has no effective way of disseminating these agents. Best case scenario is that if Iraq did use its aging biochemical weapons, perhaps a few thousand people would be effected. But since the Iraqi - Iranian War, Iraq has not used or threaten to use biochemical weapons.

Fact - If the United States goes to war with Iraq the winner will be Israel.

Fact - Israel, illegally possesses real weapons of mass destruction. Israel, illegally possesses nuclear weapons.

Fact - If the United States militarily engages Iraq it will not be a war. If the United States militarily engages Iraq it will be a massacre. If the United States militarily engages Iraq, the proper term to apply to our endeavors will be ethic cleansing. If the Untied States militarily engages Iraq, the proper term to apply to our endeavors will be genocide.

Master Phat Dreams of Spring

And Master Phat was fast a dreaming. First he dreamt past all the forms with their incessant logic, and then he came to the swirl of all the pretty colors. When Master Phat came to yellow he slowed. His dreaming turned to Spring. This brought Master Phat contentment. He dreamt of the yellow crocus. He wondered if they would be friends again?

A snap without an alt tag is like a pussy without hair. It just isn't as entertaining as it could be.

A Study In Yellow

And as Master Phat focused on the coming Spring and yellow and his friend the crocus, he needed less and Master Phat became smaller.

I am playing around with using the same image with different width and height attributes.

Many Become One

And as Master Phat became smaller, the many voices in his head became fainter and fainter, until they finally ceased. Here Master Phat was content again. He was the Spring and he would use part of his yellows to be with his friend the crocus.

And while Master Phat dreamt, the crocus to was stirring. The crocus dreamt of the warmth of the sun and his friend, Master Phat.
The Crocus Too Was Stirring

Smaller still, fading into flicker.

Fading Into Flicker

Further than I meant to go.
