Frêsh Fish - Much magic for a little fish.
Frêsh Fish is a combination of new and spirited with the added bonus being that everyone knows that fish is best fresh. The icing on the cake was that my mother’s mother, Lena, always told her and she me, that fish was brain food. So with Frêsh Fish we have spirited and new food for thought, ideas, that ain’t got no stink. I was suppose to eat fish today and did not. I hope I can be forgiven.

You think it is all over but it keeps going. The vibrations are +8 on the richter scale. That's just the foreshock. Your conception of here and now becomes tenuous and vague. Then it shifts exponentially. You learn to pray really fast here and there is absolutely no doubt in your mind that the gods exist. ![]() and then the calm - I am pure like snow for in the whiteness of the light I remember nothing. But still I sense, bathed in bubbled glory. And when again I am such, t'is but a babe before the awe. A nantucket sleigh ride is a moby dickish kind of thing. It is the sensation that one experiences riding in a small craft after harpooning a whale. © 2005 big box industries And the Almighty stood before them. And in a voice like thunder He proclaimed, "I come before yea to quell the welter." "I come before yea to answer the many whys." "Bring before Me a pristine slate - clean." The high priestess complied with the request of her beckonings. She brought forth a marble tablet, white as the waves and new fallen snow. And then the earth trembled and the sky was a blaze with whirling lights and roars. And then there was a calm, a stillness, a hush. The many rushed to the white marble tablet. With just a look they knew the work of their creator. Upon what was once virginal was written - "Something is always better than nothing." These words gave the tribe comfort and became their way. Now when they questioned with many whys the answer was always the same - "Something is always better than nothing." © 2005 big box industries Wednesday, April 27, 2005
I was up late last night. Actually by the time I got on it, it was early morning. I was doing something I had been meaning to do for some time, but since I am such a slacker I just hadn’t gotten around to it. Sound familiar? ![]() But once I got started, once I overcame the inertia of the situation, once I established a process, once I established a work flow, it was actually hard to stop. And when you are culling your Garden with impunity that is exactly how it should be. ![]() Late night, moon, culling, with impunity, Garden – WTF? I was deleting snaps from my hard drive. With photography in general and especially digital photography you are going to acquire a lot of trash. Unless you have been in focus for twenty years it is just not going to snap every time you gently squeeze the trigger. At first, even though it is very easy, it is hard to banish your precious mementos to the pit. Perhaps someday soon, there will be a national upswelling for an out of focus, over exposed, digital photo of a whatever, and you will be the only one on the face of the planet to be able to deliver. Yeah right. You only learn when you make mistakes and to be good you have to learn a lot. The process of deciding what is and what is not a good picture is a prerequisite to becoming a master of one’s craft. As soon as it is feasible, after ever photo shoot, review your take for keepers, but cull with impunity. And now I have dug a deep hole for myself. I am going to put some snaps up with this blog and people are going to say, “Is that his best? Why didn’t he kill those suckers?” But then again who knows exactly what is pleasing to God? © 2005 big box industries Saturday, April 23, 2005
No pulse and yet she lives in the blood and in the minds of all who wonder and as she wanders she whispers still. Hail Holy Light forever shinning from now into tomorrow against the darkness and the void a promise kept before me. Luna, Selene, Artemis many willed, many faced, many named mother of light a torch passed in perpetual convenant a night time rainbow in the sky. And with soft glow that stills the beast spun to spell she does weave with moonbeans and celestial light All Hail the Holy! All Hail the Light! © 2005 big box industries Sunday, April 17, 2005
Last Wednesday evening I went to Austin’s to play poker for the first time in about ten years. The other players were all pretty sharp, pulling aces out of their ass and stuff, and it took me over 2 hours to put the whoop on everybody. I won the last hand, all in, with an ace/queen in the hole and 2 aces on the flop. ![]() Do what you have got to do but don’t fuck with The Man. © 2005 big box industries I am Robert D Snaps – the D could stand for Dangerous but it actually stands for Digital. It is true that I am very cool and smooth and until three days ago I was also the world’s best one-eyed digital photographer. Last Tuesday I had a cataract removed from my right eye. Until the operation if I closed my left eye everything was just Purple Haze. Since the operation I really can’t tell that much difference with both eyes open but it is nice to know that if anything ever happens to my left eye I’ve got a backup. ![]() My operation was a little different from the ordinary. They did knock me down pretty good so I really wasn’t there for most of the festivities but the Doc explained to me ahead of time what he was going to do. First they stick a fish hook in your eye. It goes in real easy but sometimes it can be a bitch getting that barbed sucker out. Once your hooked they rotate the pointed end around and scrape all the cloudy gunk off. The next part, taking the hook out is the tricky part. If the barb meets any resistance and they pull too hard they can pull your eye ball out of its socket. Luckily for me it was an easy in, easy out. All and all modern medicine is pretty amazing. They have got the knock you down part down pat. There is no way I would have just sat there enjoying the beatings of my heart as they stuck a fish hook in my eye if I wasn’t far, far, away, eating pineapple and watching the rainbow waves lap their way to shore. © 2005 big box industries Thursday, April 07, 2005
And even as I say this I lie. Meaning no more flower snaps but I am of the Earth and there will always be more. I am addicted and this will never change. ![]() And she was like dew drops in the early morn, fresh, happy, and thankful. I got down with her, root deep. This is the way she likes it, this is the way that makes her wondrous. © big box industries Saturday, April 02, 2005
I am getting ready to dew. I am getting ready to do it again. I am due and ready. Actually I am done. A trinity, a trinity, we wanted and got a trinity. And then I had warmed up pizza and a coffee. Not coffee the way I really like it though because I still have to go to work this afternoon. It is very windy now. Earlier on the news they mentioned winds of up to 25 mph. As I watch the trees dance, sashay and sway, I can believe it. Too bad I don't have a kite. I am not really sure I understand where the wind comes from and where it goes. I know it has something to do with differences in temperature between layers of air but that is about it. Got to get ready, brush teeth, shave, and shower. Then it is socks before pants. Make lunch/dinner. Get gas on the way to work. And then amaze the world. All this and heaven too! I love it! © 2005 big box industries
